Based on the points earned in the three group stage games, the standings are determined: three points for a victory, one point for a draw, and no losses.

In a single game, the top two teams from each group based on total points progress to the knockout round.

Goal differential comes into play first when the clubs are tied on points, then the total number of goals scored. Another set of breaks will be used if teams are tied in those areas as well.
